At the very end of the summer 2022, Philipp, Philipp and Diego hiked hundreds of meteres up to a valley located in the mountains of Volders. After hours of foraging wild herbs and wild berries, they also collected the roots of Master Wort, a highly esteemed plant in Austrian culture.

More roots of Master Wort were collected during the same day, in the alm of Lagoz in Voldertal. On that day in the evening, Philipp, Philipp and Diego cleaned the roots and store them to dry in preparation to a long macerating process.

Diego and Philipp made a stop in Portla Horn on their way to Feldkirch in Vorarlberg. At almost 2000 meters of altitude a first batch of roots were collected. After a picnic at the top of the mountain, a second batch was collected during descent in the Alpe of Portla. Finally, weeks after the roots were dried, a great batch of the collection was macerated in alcohol and the rest stored in airtight bottles. It is believed in Austrian folklore that a root of Master Wort in your pocket might keep you away from any bad spirits.
